Drove my daughter to school this morning. The school is four blocks away. Why did I do that? Because it’s –25, which is like –30 with the wind chill. These are not temperatures to fool around with. Of course no one seems to have told the various teenagers that I saw walking to their school. They had light, spring jackets on. Many didn’t have hats of any description (as they’d mess up their hair, heaven forbid). Some with nothing covering their hands. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that you can die by being caught outside in the winter in Canada. I’ll have to run with the hope and prayers that these particular kids won’t one day be running major utilities or directing any type of moving object as they clearly lack any modicum of common sense. I know I was a nerd in high school. Heck, I’m a nerd now. I don’t remember anyone in high school, even the “cool kids”, being so stupid as to walk through –25 ...
