Because Technology Provides Me The Opportunity, That's Why

Wow. Alberta Plate CUP-108 ... Giant Asshat

So, at 7:35 this morning I was passed in an active school zone. This is hardly unusual around here as there seems to be a fairly large population of people that don’t give a crap about school or playground zones. But this woman was driving at least 55KM/h when she passed me. Obviously right there: a huge jackass. But she’s not content to just break laws folks … nope, she’s got to be an enormous jerk too! After turning on to Sun Valley Boulevard I watched this bitch accelerate to at least 80KM/h, 20KM over the limit, and then cut back and forth between lanes trying to get in front of as many people as possible. At the last moment she cuts to the right to barge her way into the merge lane on to MacLeod Trail northbound. At that point she was about three car lengths ahead of me. I’d been driving in one lane at the posted speed limit the entire time. All in all I’m sure she’s exactly the kind of person ...

Milliloonium

(Found this old rant of mine on archive.org … thought I’d re-post it just for kicks.) (Original posting date January 2000) Welcome to the year 2000. Let me take this opportunity to say: This year is the end of the 20th century This year is the end of the second millennium So for those of you who are ranting and raving about the new millennium and the 21st century and any other such noise: shut up. I have never seen such an inhuman display by the media in my life. What a bunch of idiots. Despite all the IT professionals saying otherwise, the media continued to harp on about how the Y2K rollover would cause chaos and panic and rioting. No planes feel from the sky. No great religious event occurred. No nuclear power plants melted down. Pathetic. Rather than spout any further, let me direct you to an article from PC Magazine which sums up my feelings perfectly.

Slow The Hell Down

(Found this old rant of mine on archive.org and thought I’d repost it just for kicks.) (Original posting date October 31, 2003) For those of you who are not in the Calgary area, or may not be aware, there was a rather significant dropping of snow on the 29th. The traffic that day wasn't really so bad, as a good number of people decided not to leave the house at all. I did come across one minivan where the driver had decided that the safest speed on the road was 10KM per hour. Sadly a was behind this driver in a school zone so I was forced to travel at this absolutely absurd rate of speed for half a kilometre. Alright, there's ice and snow on the road. Fine. If you're so scared then why are you out at all? 10KM on a level grade is not an acceptable speed, I'm sorry. Then today things got ugly. You see, today the idiots ventured out again. Continuing to be undaunted by the fact that they are too stupid to walk and breathe ...
